UAB freshman is Korn Ferry’s exemption into the PCCC

Freshman Khavish Varadon of the University of Alabama-Birmingham is the Korn Ferry Tour’s exemption into the upcoming PGA Korn Ferry Tour’s Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper.

Varadan won the PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship at famed TPC Sawgrass, the most culturally significant championship in collegiate golf. The tournament, which features minority collegiate golfers only, was played from May 3-5 at TPC Sawgrass, one of the most prestigious course in the country.

Varadan won the event by seven strokes, shooting two under par. The Malaysia native shot 70-74-70, 214 (-2) for the individual title.

It has been quite the week for Varadan. On top of winning this tournament, he finished second at the C-USA Championship, and the Blazers were selected to NCAAs.

The Second Team All-Conference USA selection is having a tremendous start to his UAB career. He was named Conference USA’s Freshman of the Year for 2019-2020, and earned all-conference accolades this year in his second season as a freshman (due to COVID). He owns the team’s second lowest stroke average this season.
