Fortunately, that’s where Legal Services of Southern Missouri comes in. It provides free civil legal assistance to low-income individuals and families. That makes it a great fit for the PGA Korn Ferry Tour’s Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper, which benefits nearly 50 Ozarks children’s charities.
During its 44-year history, Legal Services of Southern Missouri has focused on providing holistic and comprehensive services to achieve safety, and create economic and family stability. While its assists with an array of civil legal needs, its No. 1 priority is to protect children from abuse and neglect, domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and homelessness.
Since joining the PCCC a few years ago, LSSM has seen its donations increase.
“The PCCC has helped increase awareness of Legal Services in ways that we would not have been able to achieve on our own,” said Sharon Alexander, Director of Development for LSSM. “The media exposure has helped develop relationships between Legal Services and the business community adding value to the services we provide to our clients.”
Legal Services of Southern Missouri also hosts the Golfing for Justice Pro-Am, set for Monday, July 27 at Millwood Golf & Country Club.
“We have been able to develop new donor support, recruit new attorneys to provide pro bono work for our clients, and enable Legal Services to expand services to children who are victims of abuse or neglect,” Alexander added. “Additionally, our partnership with the PCCC has increased awareness of our services generating referrals from other agencies.”
