Everybody wants pearly white teeth. Fortunately, for families who struggle financially, achieving that goal isn’t out of reach.
The Children’s Smile Center has been in the making folks happy business for years, and its work has been inspiring.
That’s why the PGA Korn Ferry Tour’s Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper is proud to call Children’s Smile Center one of its nearly 50 Ozarks children’s charities again this year.
After all, in 2020 alone, the center provided care for nearly 6,000 children and pregnant women — about 13,000 dental visits in all. Additionally, CSC completed dental screenings at area schools and took about 200 children to local surgery centers for more extensive dental care needs under general anesthesia.
The CSC has offices in Ozark, Aurora and Branson West and serves children in six counties – Barry, Christian, Dade, Lawrence, Stone and Taney.
And it operates with this notable mission statement: To improve oral health and wellness in children through access to quality dental care.
“The Price Cutter Charity Championship provides our charity the opportunity to raise much-needed funds to provide dental care to low-income children,” said Jackie Barger, Executive Director of Children’s Smile Center. “Our participation in the PCCC gives our donors and friends many options to participate in a first-class professional sporting event while at the same time being a voice of compassion for children in need of dental care.”
Barger and his staff will be out all summer selling the $25 TLC Properties Charity Sweepstakes tickets (grand prizes are a 2021 Toyota Tundra or $10,00) and is taking team sponsorships for the Children’s Smile Center Poker Run Golf Classic, set for October 1 at Silo Ridge Golf & Country Club in Bolivar.
“Our involvement with the PCCC puts us in contact with dozens of other nonprofit organizations,” Barger said. “These contacts provide a wealth of encouragement and networking in learning best practices, and in collaboration for improving health outcomes for at-risk youth.”
“Purchase a sweepstakes ticket, bid on an auction, play in a pro-am … and when you do, you’re making a difference in the lives of thousands of young people in the Ozarks,” Barger said.
