When the director of Project Hope plays golf in early August – particularly in the days leading up to the Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper – he makes sure to thank the pros and other teams.
After all, pro-am are one of the reasons why the PCCC has a great, 27-year history.
But it became even sweeter for Kim Bradley, who led Project Hope to the SRC Pro-Am championship on Monday at Highland Springs Country Club. The team, which fired a 55 and own by a stroke, featured Chris Lawson, Justin Cox, Rob Wilson and pro Anders Albertson.
“The money raised through this tournament is good for the tournament and good for the charities,” Bradley said. “We appreciate it. … Money is always an issue. We don’t like to talk about money, but it helps with resources.”
Placing second was the team of Rob Ballowe, Greg Scott, Terry Mitchell, Rick Beaman and pro Jeff Grove. The team fired a 56 and earned second thanks to a scorecard tiebreaker.
Placing third was a team featuring KOLR 10’s Tom Trtan as well as Will Clark, Gary Wood, Tom Jones and pro Scott Harrington.
