The Honoring Our Heroes Program figured to be a hit for the PGA Web.com Tour’s upcoming Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper. After all, sponsorships of the program allows a great group — military veterans as well as current military, law enforcement, first responders and their families – to attend for free, plus receive complimentary food and drink as well as a great view from seating in a covered tent on the 18th green.
However, strong response in supporting the Honoring Our Heroes Program has gladly surprised tournament officials and, more importantly, become a key fundraiser for the PCCC, which is benefitting 47 Ozarks children’s charities.
That’s why Tournament Executive Director Jerald Andrews on Thursday expressed hope that businesses and individuals who haven’t yet supported children’s charities partner with the PCCC through the Honoring Our Heroes Program.
The tournament, to be played Aug. 10-13 at Highland Springs Country Club, has seen NRoute Enterprises LLC and Vehicle Outfitters of Ozark already agree to be the presenting sponsor of the Honoring Our Heroes Program. Plus, the Mountain View-based Whetstone Boys Ranch will oversee the Heroes tent daily during the tournament. A portion of tournament proceeds will go to the Greene County 100 Club, which supports spouses and dependent children of police officers or firefighters killed in the line of duty in Greene County, Missouri.

“The Honoring Our Heroes Program developed in the middle of last summer, and we saw a great response then. This year, it’s been even better and probably even more important,” Andrews said. “We’ve been fortunate over the years that numerous sponsors keep supporting us.”
Andrews added, “With the Honoring Our Heroes Program, we’ve seen families and individuals, not just companies, donate. It’s their way of making a difference for two great groups – our children’s charities as well as the community of military, law enforcement and first responders. With their sponsorships, we’re on track to enjoy another successful tournament.”
The Honoring Our Heroes Program was the impetus to this year’s theme of “United We Stand For Kids * Charity * Community * PGA Web.com Tour.”
However, it is not the only way to support the PCCC. For instance:
- Team sponsorships remain available in upcoming pro-ams: the Integrity Home Care Pro-Am and the Education and Energy Pro-Am on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, at LedgeStone Country Club in Branson; and two on Tuesday — the Silver Dollar City Pro-Am on at Buffalo Ridge Golf Course, and the Betty Allison’s Women’s Pro-am at Millwood Golf & Racquet Club in Ozark. Each team receives continental breakfast, lunch, a terrific golfer gift package and more. The SDC Pro-Am includes a Callaway shopping experience, while the winning team of the Integrity Pro-Am qualifies for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ National Scramble Championship on Nov. 17-19 at Pinehurst, N.C.’s Nos. 2 and 8 courses – where the late Payne Stewart won a U.S. Open.
- The PCCC has numerous $25 tickets in the TLC Properties Charity Sweepstakes, in which the grand prizes are a 2017 Ford F-150 or $10,000. You can also win one of 125 daily prizes valued of at least $25.
