The roughly 50 Ozarks-based charities of the Price Cutter Charity Championship received a major boost as Price Cutter Supermarkets has agreed to a new five-year deal to continue as the title sponsor of the annual Korn Ferry Tour event, with Hiland Dairy Foods moving into a new role as the presenting sponsor of the tournament.
Tournament Executive Director Byron Shive announced the new deal following the recent release of the 2025 Korn Ferry Tour schedule. The new contract will provide long-term support and continuity for the tournament, which began in 1990 and has gifted more than $20.5 million to charities all across the Ozarks and beyond. Price Cutter Supermarkets has been on board for 24 years, with a majority of the dollars given to charity – 93.7 percent of the total, or $19,206,372 – gifted during its time as a title or presenting sponsor.
“We are incredibly thankful to Erick Taylor and Rob Marsh with Price Cutter Supermarkets for continuing this all-important sponsorship,” said Shive, referring to the grocery chain’s President and Chief Operating Officer, respectively. “What they have done for the tournament – and, thus, for so many kids and families being helped by our charities – has been nothing short of amazing. We are truly thankful.”
“Shopping local matters,” said Marsh. “That’s what Price Cutter Supermarkets has said for years, and for good reason. We want to throw our support to folks here in our backyard, and the tournament is a great way to do that. It helps roughly 50 charities every year, and so we are proud to renew our sponsorship.”
“We are grateful for Price Cutter’s extended commitment to one of our Tour’s original tournaments that has helped identify and prepare the next generation of PGA TOUR stars since the inaugural 1990 season while making a positive impact on the community,” said Alex Baldwin, President of the Korn Ferry Tour. “This event’s 2024 champion Matt McCarty went on to finish No. 1 on the Korn Ferry Tour points list and secure his PGA TOUR card. We look forward to seeing more future stars compete in Springfield.”
Additionally, Hiland Dairy Foods will now be the presenting sponsor of the Price Cutter Charity Championship.
“We are excited to have Hiland Dairy Foods step into the presenting sponsor role,” said Shive. “Hiland Dairy has been a Lead Sponsor of the tournament since the tournament’s beginning and I look forward to working alongside their team as we enter a new era for the tournament.
“Rick Beaman and Rob Ballowe have always been great friends of the tournament,” added Shive of Hiland Dairy’s President and General Manager, respectively. “Hiland Dairy has always been a great partner, and always willing to help out in any way possible to help make the tournament a success. I see this new partnership only magnifying that longtime support.”
“Hiland Dairy is excited to become the presenting sponsor for the Price Cutter Charity Championship,” said Beaman, President of Hiland Dairy Foods. “We have been sponsoring the tournament since Springfield became a venue for this major event. We decided to step up our role as a sponsor because we know how important this is for so many local charities. Hiland Dairy has always supported local events that support the community. Price Cutter and Hiland Dairy have always had a great partnership, and this is a way to team up and give back!”
Hiland Dairy Foods replaces Dr Pepper as the presenting sponsor of the tournament. Dr Pepper had been the presenting sponsor of the tournament since 2006.
“I certainly want to recognize the longtime support of Dr Pepper as the presenting sponsor of the tournament, too,” said Shive. “Dr Pepper has been the presenting sponsor for nearly 20 years, and they have played a key role in the continued success of the tournament, as well as in the increased charitable giving during that same time frame. The Ozarks Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper Bottling Co. has been a valued partner of the tournament and I just want to publicly thank them for all they have done, and will continue to do, for the tournament.”
The 36th annual Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Hiland Dairy Foods will be contested July 17-20, 2025, at Highland Springs Country Club, which has been the tournament’s home since the tournament’s inception in 1990. The Price Cutter Charity Championship is one of just four tournaments on what is now called the Korn Ferry Tour that has been played every year since the tour began in 1990, joining tournaments in Boise, Idaho; Knoxville, Tenn.; and Wichita, Kan., as the other legacy tournaments.
