Charity Spotlight: Springfield Dream Center

Dream-1

When Jody Dow was 11, she dreamed of opening a Dream Center. Eventually, she became the Springfield Dream Center’s first solo staff member and now leads a team that is just as passionate, with hopes of making a positive difference for Springfield families.

Located within walking distance to the many families, the Springfield Dream Center exists to give practical help and life-changing hope to families in our area.

In 2019, the Dream Center joined the PGA Korn Ferry Tour’s Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper, a major fundraiser for Ozarks children’s charities.

“We are so grateful to be a part of the PCCC,” Dow said. “2019 was our first year to participate and we had a great time. We loved getting to partner with so many local charities and businesses to make a difference in our community.”

Dream Center-2

Since 2017 the Springfield Dream Center has shared this message of help and hope from the building graciously donated by Hamlin Baptist Church. Highly instrumental in giving flight to the Dream Center’s vision, North Point Church serves as both a founding organization as well as current financial supporter. The Dream Center offers a variety of programs from children to adults such as DC Academy, adult educational classes, a food pantry, community dinner, and much more.

Thanks to the PCCC, the Dream Center managed to generate more fundraising, such as through the TLC Properties Charity Sweepstakes in which a $25 ticket can win a 2020 Toyota Tundra or $10,000. The Dream Center also was able to get the word out to a wider audience.

“One of my favorite things about being a PCCC charity is getting to partner with so many of our non-profit friends and local businesses to raise awareness of the great work happening in the Ozarks,” Dow added. “Everyone works so hard to do their best and PCCC allows us to celebrate the great work happening all while having fun. PCCC is a great picture of a community working together.”
