Charity Spotlight: Dogwood Ranch

Back in 2015, Brian and Dana Lopez moved to the Ozarks eager to help foster kids in some way. And, as licensed foster parents, they had an idea.

That idea has been making a positive difference. Dogwood Ranch comforts and houses foster children, and focuses on equine therapy. It’s why the PGA Korn Ferry Tour’s Price Cutter Charity Championship is proud to partner with Dogwood Ranch.

The ranch itself has grown and includes The Village, Healing Reins and – a new addition – The Haven.

“The PCCC played an important role last fall in the opening of our first transitional living home at The Haven at Dogwood Ranch,” Dana said. “By providing a safe and supportive living environment, The Haven directly impacts former foster youth whose lives have been drastically altered due to childhood abuse and neglect. We believe that through these efforts, every foster youth can gain meaningful and successful independence, creating a new future that is full of tremendous promise.”

Lopez emphasized the Healing Reins program, too.

“The PCCC has had an impact on our Healing Reins equine therapy program, allowing us to reach and help many individuals learning to work through significant trauma,” Dana said.

The Village at Dogwood Ranch is a unique solution-focused program aimed at addressing the need for highly trained foster families to provide long-term care to Elevated Needs foster children and youth. This community of homes will include approximately eight experienced, licensed and specifically trained foster homes dedicated to parenting Elevated Needs kids. In addition, one full-time respite home and one emergency “on call” home will also be located on the property.

“The PCCC provides annual revenue which supports Dogwood Ranch’s infrastructure, paving the way to continue operations, meet the needs of many vulnerable families in our community, and achieving our mission,” Dana said.
