Meet future stars of the PGA as a volunteer! The PGA Korn Ferry Price Cutter Charity Championship is looking for volunteer team members for the 2024 Tournament presented by Dr Pepper. Be part of our team for July 18-21, at Highland Springs Country Club in Springfield, Missouri: meet the players, be in the action, and make new friends as you help support our Champions!

Join the many volunteers who have returned year after year to support the Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper. Volunteer opportunities are abundant, and work schedules are flexible to accommodate your personal needs. Please click on the volunteer committee opportunities below to find your niche. Volunteers who work two shifts will receive a Gilardi’s or a Rivercut Golf gift certificate.

Admissions

ADMISSIONS

As spectators and fans arrive at the Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper, you will provide one of the first interactions with guests, greeting everyone with Show Me State hospitality to jumpstart the spectators’ experience. Volunteers in this committee will be on their feet most of the day.

Responsibilities: Members of this committee will be responsible for selling tournament tickets at the admissions area, selling merchandise, and providing spectators with appropriate credentials, information and any available giveaways.

  • Greet spectators upon arrival at the tournament.
  • Answer questions related to guest experience.
  • Maintaining order throughout the admissions process.
  • Active knowledge of ticket pricing, options and relaying that to spectators.
  • Selling merchandise, tournament tickets and sweepstakes tickets.
  • Give spectators instructions on shuttle stops, where to find concessions, vendors, etc.

Requirements:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to calmly deal with guests in a respectful manner.
  • Comfortably work with technology such as computers, iPads, etc.

Shift Requirements:

  • 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Thursday through Sunday
  • Hours may vary depending on shift assignment.
Marshals - Bridges & Walkways

MARSHALS – BRIDGES & WALKWAYS

Help manage crowd control on bridges and walkways. Marshals are also integral in spotting balls and helping find lost balls within the time limits. Golf knowledge is helpful for this up-close view to all players and caddies. Serving as a Marshal is a great experience at the Korn Ferry tournament. Ending shift concludes with the end of play.

Responsibilities: Marshals are assigned to all bridges and some walkways around the course. The layout of the course and landscaping potentially creates bottlenecks for foot traffic. Marshals will keep these areas open for players, caddies, and PGA officials to move around the course at the pace of play. Members of this committee will be responsible for ensuring players’ safety and easy access from hole to hole. Marshal assignments and duties include:

  • Typically, two to four Marshals are assigned to bridges to keep the foot traffic moving across the bridge.
  • Marshals will signal the gallery for quiet as players address the ball to make their shot.
  • A great opportunity for friends or co-workers to have a fun day.

Requirements:

  • Ability to walk short and long distances and to stand for a period.
  • Ability to calmly deal with guests in a respectful manner.

Shift Requirements:

  • 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. or end of play Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday
  • 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. or end of play Thursday and Friday
  • Hours may vary depending on shift assignment.
Construction

CONSTRUCTION

The Construction Committee will assist with Tournament set up and other various projects as necessary. Volunteers of this committee will need to be available prior to tournament week to assist with pre-Tournament projects and following the Tournament to return the course to its normal setting.

PRE-TOURNAMENT ASSISTANCE: (Sunday, July 14, 2024, through Wednesday, July 17, 2024 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM)

  • Hanging or securing flags, banners and signage on the golf course.
  • Constructing 10×10 pop up tents on the course where needed.
  • Delivering coolers to various tournament locations.
  • Setting up tables and chairs in the VIP Tent.
  • Setting up tables and chairs in vendor areas.
  • Delivering Coke and beer product to the Ultimate Tent.
  • Delivering merchandise to Vendor Tents.

POST TOURNAMENT ASSISTANCE: (Sunday, July 21, 2024, NOON—8:00 PM)

  • Loading a box truck with anything left on the course.
  • Picking up flags off the Boulevard.
  • Taking down signage on parking lot fencing and anything along the Boulevard or Vendor areas.
  • Retrieving all tables and chairs from the course.
  • Retrieving all remaining Coke and beer product at the Ultimate Tent.
  • Retrieving any signage, fans, tubs or materials in the Skyboxes.
  • Returning any coolers, signage, tents or decorations to the Hall of Fame.
  • Cleaning up the VIP Tent, returning high top tables to Hall of Fame.

HALL OF FAME CLEANUP: (Monday, July 22, 2024, 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM through Tuesday, July 25, 2024 8:30 AM to Noon)

  • Organizing and inventory of leftover merchandise.
  • Storing merchandise.
  • Sorting, cleaning, organizing of all tournament tools and materials.
  • Cleaning coolers, stacking leftover product.
  • Cleaning storage rooms and organizing them back to their original state.
  • Assisting with deliveries of trophies or auction items, returning banners, any errands to wrap up the tournament.

Requirements:

  • Highly active volunteer position, heavy lifting is required; knowledge of power tools is helpful but not required.
  • Most work will be done outside.
Courtesy Vehicle Distribution

COURTESY VEHICLE DISTRIBUTION

Volunteers on this committee are responsible for picking up and returning vehicles provided by local dealerships to station around the course for evacuation and for display.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor admittance to the Clubhouse and ensure that only properly credentialed individuals are allowed inside the Clubhouse.
  • Serve as an ambassador to sponsors and guests.
  • Greet all individuals and assist with answering questions.

Requirements:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have knowledge of the local area and golf course.
  • Must have knowledge of the play of golf to be able to retrieve vehicles during professional play, if needed.

Shift Requirements:

  • Must be available to assist before, after and during tournament week.
  • Hours may vary depending on shift assignment.
Hospitality

HOSPITALITY

Volunteers on this committee will provide information and assistance to all individuals entering the Clubhouse. This includes players, caddies, sponsors, volunteers and guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor admittance to the Clubhouse and ensure that only properly credentialed individuals are allowed inside the Clubhouse.
  • Serve as an ambassador to sponsors and guests.
  • Greet all individuals and assist with answering questions.

Requirements:

  • Volunteers may be on their feet most of the shift.
  • Calmly deal with spectators and volunteers around the Clubhouse.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Shift Requirements:

  • 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
  • Hours may vary depending on shift assignment.
Locker Room Support

LOCKER ROOM SUPPORT

Volunteers on this committee provide support to players and caddies, servicing the locker room area to keep clean and orderly, and receive and sort incoming packages for distribution to players.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Tournament ambassador to players and caddies.
  • Maintain the highest level of professionalism and discretion while interacting with all players and caddies.

Requirements:

  • Need to be knowledgeable, helpful and courteous.
  • Possess an outgoing and vibrant personality.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to stand for a majority of the shift.

Shift Requirements:

  • 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
  • Hours may vary depending on shift assignment.
Marshals - Hole

MARSHALS – HOLE

Help manage crowd control inside and outside the ropes. Marshals are also integral in spotting balls and helping find lost balls within the time limits. Golf knowledge is helpful for this up-close view of all players and caddies. Serving as a Marshal is a great experience inside the ropes at the Korn Ferry tournament. Locations include tee, fairway (Par 4 & 5) and green. Ending shift concludes with the end of play.

Responsibilities: Members of this committee will be responsible for ensuring players’ safety and easy access from hole to hole. Marshal assignments and duties include:

  • Marshals are assigned to all 18 holes to ensure proper coverage, with four to eight Marshals per hole. The number of Marshals per hole depends on the hole’s par and any challenges or difficulties the design of the hole may provide for the players.
  • Marshals working the tee box will ensure spectators remain quiet while players are making their tee shot.
  • Marshals working the fairway will serve as ball spotters, measuring drives (only on PGA assigned holes) and signal with signs or marking flags to avoid balls from being lost.
  • Marshals working the green will ensure spectators remain quiet while players are putting.
  • Quiet signs and flags will be provided to the volunteers by the Tournament.
  • A great opportunity for groups, golf courses, or friends to be represented on a hole.

Requirements:

  • Ability to walk short and long distances and to stand for a period.
  • Ability to calmly deal with guests in a respectful manner.
  • Ability to work with technology such as computers, iPads, etc. for those measuring long drives as determined by PGA staff.

Shift Requirements:

  • 6:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. or end of play Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday
  • 6:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. or end of play Thursday and Friday
  • Hours may vary depending on shift assignment.
Marshals - Sky Boxes Holes 9 & 18

MARSHALS – SKY BOXES HOLES 9 & 18

Help manage crowd control inside the Sky Boxes located on holes 9 and 18. Golf knowledge is helpful for this up-close view of all players and caddies.

Responsibilities:

  • Members of this committee will be responsible for monitoring admittance to the Sky Box.
  • Serve as an ambassador of the Tournament.
  • Provide busing services as spectators leave the Sky Box to ensure a clean area for new spectators.
  • Ensure spectators remain quiet while players and caddies are on the green in front of the Sky Box.
  • Restock product and ice as needed.
  • Sell sweepstakes tickets.
  • Quiet signs and flags are provided to the volunteers by the Tournament.
  • A great opportunity for friends or co-workers to have a fun day.

  • Ability to walk short and long distances and to stand for a period.
  • Ability to calmly deal with guests in a respectful manner.

Shift Requirements:

  • 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. or end of play Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday
  • 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. or end of play Thursday and Friday
  • Hours may vary depending on shift assignment.
Oncourse Services

ONCOURSE SERVICES

Volunteers will supply various locations on and off the course with beverages for the players and caddies. This will involve some heavy lifting and working in hot and humid conditions. Volunteers will pre-set coolers for players and caddies, as well as others on the golf course. You will also place trash cans and manage trash removal from the course. In most cases volunteers will drive golf carts.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the set-up and preparation for each day of play.
  • Maintain player and caddie refreshments throughout the course (ice and beverages).
  • Keep the course clean of trash and debris, set up and maintain trash containers.
  • Monitor signage, gallery ropes, general course appearance and notify Tournament staff for repair.

Requirements:

  • Highly active volunteer position, some heavy lifting required.
  • Calmly deal with spectators around the course.
  • Provide assistance to Tournament staff and course staff as needed.
  • Any other special assignments as provided by Tournament staff.

Shift Requirements:

  • Two shifts available:
    • 6:00 a.m. to Noon
    • Noon to 6 p.m. or when done
  • Hours may vary depending on Tournament guidance.
  • Days will be from Monday the start of the Tournament to Sunday the last day.
Volunteer Support/Hospitality

VOLUNTEER SUPPORT/HOSPITALITY

Volunteer Support/Hospitality provides support to volunteers working the course such as Marshals. Volunteers on this Committee will be driving a golf cart or riding in a golf cart delivering drinks, snacks and food to volunteers on the course. This support is important to keeping our volunteers hydrated and fed who are outside during the tournament.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the set-up and preparation for each day of play i.e., loading coolers, packing boxes of snacks, and meal delivery at lunch time.
  • Maintain volunteer coolers placed around the course (ice and beverages).
  • Keep course clean, picking up any trash not placed in a receptacle.
  • Monitor signage, gallery ropes, general course appearance and notify Tournament staff for repair.

Requirements:

  • Highly active volunteer position, some heavy lifting required.
  • Calmly deal with spectators and volunteers around the course.

Shift Requirements:

  • 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
  • Hours may vary depending on shift assignment.
Walking Scorer

WALKING SCORER

The Walking Scorer role is a critical volunteer position working alongside PGA professionals. This is an oncourse position focused on PGA tournament statistical data collection.

Responsibilities: Volunteers of this committee are responsible for walking with a group to keep statistics and hole-by-hole records for each player.

Requirements:

  • Must have knowledge of the game of golf and score keeping.
  • Must watch the mandatory training video provided by the PGA TOUR on how to use the devices provided.  Both new and returning volunteers are required to watch the training video.
  • Must be comfortable with technology and handheld devices.
  • Must be able to walk 18 holes.
  • Must understand golf rules and etiquette.

Shift Options:

  • Work half day or full day shifts Monday and Wednesday – Sunday.
