Jacob Bennion and Constance Adamski won their respective divisions in the 10K while Mitch Furtkamp and Tonya Versteeg did the same in the 5K on Saturday in the inaugural Diaper Dash & Brunch Bash at the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.

The event drew nearly 200 and was a fundraiser for the PGA Web.com Tour’s Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper, with the Diaper Bank of the Ozarks among the PCCC’s 49 charities.

The brunch was from Gailey’s Breakfast Café, and CoxHealth was among several sponsors.

“We’re really excited. It was everything we dreamed and more,” said Jill Bright, the founder of the Diaper Bank of the Ozarks, which provides 75,000 diapers a month to 86 agencies across the Ozarks. “We thank the community for pulling this together.”

“I just really like running and thought it’d be fun and for a good cause,” said Bennion, who made the more than hour drive to Springfield. “We were just looking for some 10K runs and I thought, ‘This looks like fun.’”

Adamski was just looking to better her time.

“I love to push myself to my limits and coming out here really, ultimately, helps me reach my goals,” Adamski said. “And it’s a good cause.”
