BRANSON – A foursome from Springfield and the Lake of the Ozarks area captured top honors in the Energy & Education Pro-Am on Sunday at LedgeStone Country Club.

The Great Southern Bank team of Levi Paterson, Riley Hamilton, Sam Paterson and Mack Murray – playing with pro Bradley Long – finished with a 54. The four are from Springfield and the Lake of the Ozarks region. Their score was two strokes better than the second-place team belonging to Southwest Tree Service, which consisted of Bill Temple, David Cox, Ann Fuchs and John Fuchs. Bryan Newman was their pro in the scramble format.

“We had two pars and one eagle, and a lot of birdies,” Levi Paterson said. “We just happened to look pretty good.”

The event was part of the Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper, the PGA Tour’s annual Web.com Tour event that plays this Thursday through Sunday at Highland Springs Country Club. PCCC-related events help to raise money for children’s charities, and the tournament is expected to easily pass $12 million in this, its 26th year. A record $1 million-plus was gifted a year ago.

The third-place team in A-Flight belonged to the Mercy team of Kevin Rash, Drew Rash, Brad Snyder and Mark Walterskitchen. Their pro was Kevin Kring, a 2008 Central High School graduate who will play next week in the PCCC on an exemption.

KL Lim had the best score of the pros, firing a 63.
