To a person who was rescued, NAMI Southwest Missouri isn’t just any organization. It is life saver.

“NAMI Southwest Missouri is the light in a dark place for so many,” said Sierea. “It is proof that many of us living with a mental illness and our families can thrive and grow with opportunity and guidance. It is a safe place to embrace our feelings, find connection and see results. It is a place that is non-judgmental throughout your journey.”

NAMI Southwest Missouri’s acronym stands for National Alliance on Mental Illness, and it’s another great charity of the PGA Korn Ferry Tour’s Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper.

NAMI’s mission statement is to the point: To improve the lives of persons affected by mental illness and their families through support, education and advocacy.

“Knowing that hope is the cornerstone of recovery and believing you can have success with your life is critical,” said Stephanie Appleby, Executive Director of NAMI Southwest Missouri. “I believe that NAMI Southwest Missouri is the foundation of hope for so many.”

Its partnership with the PCCC has been enormous. For instance:

  • The PCCC has provides NAMI Southwest Missouri a platform that it may not have had originally. “We are not only part of an élite tournament but are raising awareness for our cause and making life long connections,” Appleby said.
  • The PCCC has streamlined the fundraising process making this a fun encouraging way to raise funds for all of NAMI’s causes.
  • NAMI also is raising awareness through its NAMI Neon 5k Run/Walk, which is set for Saturday, Aug. 22 at Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park in Springfield.

“This tournament is made up of passionate dedicated individuals that are committed to helping others,” Appleby said. “We get the opportunity to help other organizations, build relationships and network with an amazing community all while helping to engage more supporters and raise mission critical funds.”
