The Kiwanis Clubs of Springfield certainly rally around local school kids.
A few years ago, the Kiwanis Club of Ozark Empire became involved with the PGA Korn Ferry Tour’s Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper as a way to raise money. Those funds helped purchase shoes for students in Springfield Public Schools.
Since then, more Kiwanis Clubs in the city have joined forces, and this year will mark the fourth consecutive that a Kiwanis Club is involved. That’s notable considering the Kiwanis Club’s international reach, as the organization is dedicated to helping serve children of the world.
What began with one Club providing umbrellas at the tee boxes and the greens and marshaling one of the 18 holes, has evolved into four local chapters of Kiwanis International volunteering at the tournament and selling sweepstakes and skybox tickets.
