Charity spotlight: Greene County 100 Club

GreeneCounty100Club

When those in uniform rush to an emergency or the scene of a crime, there are no guarantees. No promise of returning home. No assurance that all will be fine.

Fortunately, the Greene County 100 Club has long given peace of mind to families of law enforcement and first responders. You see, should police or firefighters be killed in the line of duty in Greene County, Missouri, the 501c-3 not-for-profit steps in immediately to provide financial support to the surviving spouse and dependent children.

In other words, talk about a great cause. In fact, that’s why the PGA Web.com Tour’s Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper is proud to partner again this year with the Greene County 100 Club, as part of this year’s tournament proceeds will be directed to the 100 Club.

Those covered by the 100 Club are full-time, part-time or volunteer law enforcement officers or firefighters who are killed in the line of duty while performing official duties for a law enforcement or fire agency of, or within, Greene County.

Surviving spouses are given immediate financial support, within hours of the death of a police officer or firefighter. The initial goal of the Greene County 100 Club is to provide $5,000 to cover expenses.

The law enforcement agencies within Greene County include police departments of Ash Grove, Battlefield, Fair Grove, Republic, Rogersville and Springfield along with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.

Greene County fire protection districts which are covered include Ash Grove, Battlefield, Bois D’Arc, Brookline, Ebenezer, Fair Grove, Logan-Rogersville, Pleasant View, Republic, West Republic, Springfield, Springfield-Branson National Airport, Strafford, Walnut Grove and Willard.
