BRANSON – The team of Michael Vincente, David Carlton, Brad Kanne and Cole Reiman now have bragging rights, and could take them straight to Hammons Field, too.

The foursome, playing with Springfield Cardinals outfielder Mike O’Neill, won the Cardinals Care Pro-Am on Monday at Buffalo Ridge Golf Course. The team fired a 56, besting 29 other squads.

Their score was one stroke better than that of Dave Pfitzner, Darin Schumacher, Chris Zimmerman and Jay Zimmerman – a foursome that was guided by former big-leaguer Jason Simontacchi, the Double-A club’s pitching coach.

Placing third was the foursome of Scott Kelley, Darren Petrus, Ron Murray and David Horsey as they teamed with new Springfield Cardinal Brett Wiley. They also shot a 57.

The Cardinals Care Pro-Am was part of the Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper, a chief fundraiser for 44 Ozarks children’s charities. The PGA Tour’s annual Web.com Tour stop was decided on Aug. 17 at Highland Springs Country Club, but about a dozen pro-ams scheduled around it have helped fund-raise.

The PCCC has generated at least $12 million in its 25-year history, and the final tally from this year’s tournament will be announced during the Celebration of Sharing on Dec. 1 at Highland Springs Country Club.
